Austin’s volunteer-run, collectively-organized, non-profit Treasure City Thrift Store and iLoveMikeLitt are excited to bring you their 3rd Recycled Fashion Show on Saturday, June 19th, from 7-9pm. The Runway Show takes place at 8:00pm. Admission to this awesome event is a very affordable $5 donation at the door, proceeds of which will benefit Treasure City Thrift Store. The event goes down tonight at Treasure City, located at 2943 East 12th St. in Austin. During the show you can enjoy music by DJ Bullet, as well as a pre-show musical performance by That Damned Band.
The After Party location has been confirmed for ND at 501 Studios (501 Brushy, between 5th and 6th, just east of I-35.) The party’s first act will start at 10 pm. Right after the last act plays, past midnight, DJ Mel will start spinning, so the party will keep going! Entry into the After Party is free with admission to the Fashion Show and a $5 donation for those who didn’t attend the featured event.
The guiding concept is creative reuse of materials. In the 2008 show, we’re proud to say all of the designers used recycled materials. Each year, the show has been a must-see event – the creativity and talent of our local professional and D.I.Y designers energize and excite the Austin community! –treasurecityfashion.com
Treasure City’s Recycled Fashion Show is an awesome concept born of the collective efforts of many talented local designers, stylists, and other industry professionals. One such participant is Gillian Courtney, a student at the University of Texas and a member of the new Starving Art Studio complex. Gillian contributed a beautiful textile piece to the gallery show at Starving Art, which is still currently on display and has been since the space’s Opening Gala on June 5th.
