The original Girls Next Door – Holly, Kendra and Brdiget – moved out of the Playboy mansion less than two years ago. Since then, Holly’s World has debuted on E!, Kendra‘s spawned a family and a sex tape and Bridget Marquardt has fostered two new reality TV shows.
The Girls Next Door: The Break Up
In late 2008, after a successful four seasons and four years in a relationship with Playboy president Hugh Hefner, Holly Madison announced her break up with “Hef”. Soon after, the other two girls were said to be leaving the E! hit show – Replaced by Hugh Hefner’s new Playmate girlfriends. The new Girls Next Door consisted of main gal Crystal Harris and the Shannon twins, Kristina and Karissa.
Life After the Mansion: Holly’s World
For Holly, it was said by sites like BuddyTV.com that she “wouldn’t go far” from the Los Angeles homebase of Playboy. After Hugh Hefner confirmed the Holly Madison break up, Holly said she was ready to move on sans boyfriend – And The Girls Next Door.
“I’m never dating anybody again. I don’t need a man,” the 30-year-old former Playmate said in late 2008. “I’m really happy with myself and being with my friends [and] I’m focused on forwarding my career.” She added that she’d already moved forward in “producing [her] own shows” and said it was more than time enough to “move on”.
From there to now, Holly Madison began work on her first run of the new reality TV show and revealed to her fans that she felt forced into plastic surgery from living at the Playboy mansion.
“Living with Hef brought down my self-esteen a lot,” Holly said in a past interview to LIfe & Style. “I was comparing myself to the other girls,” she said, reinforcing the fact that Hef never wanted her to “get anything done.”
“You have to look a certain way at the mansion,” she adds. “If you look at Hef’s girlfriend now, she basically looks like a clone of me. It’s kind of weird.”
But despite being doubled, Holly made it clear that she was going to be anything but “another LA reality show girl”. Holly said in November last year that she would work “toplessness” into her Peepshow script tastefully and would branch out in new ways that would “surprise” viewers.
Less than a month later, Holly Madison debuted her solo reality TV show on E!, Holly’s World. Now in its second season, the new edition of Holly’s World is set to debut Sunday and the blonde bombshell is back on the Las Vegas strip doing just what she said. Minus one thing.
The show’s producers have said they’ll follow Holly through more Holly’s World adventures, from Peepshow to a “renewed love” in the Sin City. Is Holly Madison looking for love?
“Well, I definitely want to have kids,” she said in a recent interview with PR.com. “But I’ll probably adopt because there is no guy good enough for me,” she said jokingly. To find out, tune into Holly’s World, airing on Sundays at 10:30/9:30c on E!.
