Tickets are still available for the Culinary Classic on Monday, May 3, 2010, from 5 to 9pm at The Mill at Spring Lake Heights. Presented by the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, the 19th annual Culinary Classic fundraiser will feature specialty dishes from 35 restaurants and tastings from six wineries and one brewery who have donated their product, time and energy to help fight hunger. Many restaurateurs who helped create the Culinary Classic fundraiser in 1992 remain loyal and generous participants today despite economic tough times.
The Mill at Spring Lake Heights – one of the original participants – encourages guests to enjoy the charm of its two levels while sampling delicious tastings from these talented and creative restaurateurs and listening to musical entertainment performed by Nicole and Denise and PJ Park and the Vinnie Ruggieri Trio.
Local participating restaurants from Red Bank include Danny’s Steak House, Gaetano’s Italian Restaurant, the Molly Pitcher Inn, the Oyster Point Hotel, and The Melting Pot. Other participants include McLoone’s Restaurants, Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant and the Wine Loft in Long Branch; the Bay Avenue Trattoria in Atlantic Highlands; Doris & Ed’s in the Highlands; Piccola Italia in Ocean and Joe Leone’s Catering in Point Pleasant Beach and Sea Girt, Wine will be donated by Egan’s Liquors of Spring Lake and Sea Girt, as well as Gallo Wine, WJ Deutsch & Sons, and Francis Ford Coppola Presents, LLC. Crown Beer of Wall will be offering samplings of its finest brews.
The Culinary Classic is the original tasting event at the Jersey Shore and continues to be the largest and most widely known. Last year’s event raised more than $80,000.00 which was directed to provide nutritious food to 270 charities in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The event will also feature an on-site 50/50, and a Silent Auction. A Ladies 2.25 carat diamond bracelet in 14k white gold, donated by Ballew Jewelers of Red Bank, Sea Girt and Freehold, will be raffled and the winner announced at the event. The bracelet will be modeled that evening by The Breeze 107.1 DJ, Dianne DeOliveira. This year’s Culinary Classic is sponsored by The Breeze 107.1/99.7 FM Radio, Allister Business Solutions of Freehold and The Mill Restaurant.
