A routine inspection of a Paris, Texas manufacturer that produces SpaghettiOs for the Campbell’s Soup label found that one of the cookers used to make SpaghettiOs had malfunctioned and it is uncertain when the malfunction occurred. SpaghettiOs with meat products have been recalled in response to the discovery.
“SpaghettiOs is an American brand of canned, spoon-able spaghetti featuring circular pasta shapes in a cheese and tomato sauce — and marketed to parents as ‘less messy’ than regular spaghetti. More than 150 million cans of SpaghettiOs are sold each year.” (source : Wiki)
As with many food and other recalls in recent months, Campbell’s is quick to point out that no illnesses have occurred as a result of eating the canned spaghetti meals but that the recall is the result of an ‘abundance of caution’.

According to the AP article, “because the cans were not sufficiently heated, [Anthony]Sanzio [Campbell’s spokesperson] said, they could be ripe for bacterial growth and the product could spoil before its use-by date.” (source)
