Teens shoplift and very clever thieves steal paintings. There is a pathology involved, but is there a relationship? Parents of teens who shoplift often worry that their children might become criminals. In fact 20 percent of those who shoplift as teens go on to do so as adults.
But in terms of becoming an outright thief with the daring it takes to “shoplift” five masterpieces — cannot say there is any correlation. Art theft is basic criminality, which in itself is considered deviant behavior.

ABC News reported, “Art thieves stole paintings by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani and two other well-known artists from a Paris museum in a heist worth 100 million euros ($124.2 million). Back to the question is there a relationship between shoplifting and stealing?
It seems that shoplifting might be a cry for help with teens. In terms of shoplifting, 20 percent of adults who shoplift say they did so as teens. These are interesting numbers.
