Rush Holt’s rank hypocrisy and penchant for lying is legion to residents of the 12th District and we have pointed it out here on a couple of occasions. But did you know he’s also a coward who makes absurd claims in support of his refusal to defend his record and debate his potential Republican challengers?
You didn’t? Well, let’s rectify that situation post haste…shall we?
Shortly after our prior piece on Scott Sipprelle’s return volley to Holt’s earlier-than-usual commencement of Democratic gutter politics, this Examiner received an email from David Corsi, the Conservative challenger in the June 8th Primary. Mr. Corsi informed us of a letter his campaign received from Holt in response to Mr. Corsi’s similar debate challenge. Let’s parse the contents:
As you may know, one of the principal reasons that I chose to run for public office was to confront and reduce the cynicism that Americans have about our Government, cynicism that I believe is fueled by the hyper-partisan nature of our political discourse.
How about we stop there for a moment and try to absorb this. The most liberal member of Congress, according to National Journal, is trying to tell Mr. Corsi and voters in the 12th Disctrict that one of the reasons he ran for Congress was to reduce the cynicism caused by hyper-partisanship? Is that both hypocritical and a lie at the same time? What do you call that? A “hypo-lie”?
There it is folks. Rush Holt from this day forth shall be credited as being the impetus for an entirely new word for the unholy fusion of hypocrisy and lies: the Hypoliar. Feel free to use that one for others as circumstances warrant.

Some of that cynicism is the result of the seemingly never-ending political campaign season. I have been elected to serve the people for two years, not spend two years working to get re-elected. I think the constituents of the 12th District deserve nothing less.
First of all, enough with the sanctimonious “never-ending political campaign season” nonsense. Rush Holt never met a Union donor he didn’t love at any point in between terms. And how he has the gaul to say that the 12th District deserves nothing less, when just 10 days before the health care bill passed a ridiculous 68% of New Jersey voters wanted Holt and his ilk to scrap the bill, is literally beyond the pale.
Rush Holt exuberantly and unapologetically spat in the face of 12th District voters, New Jersey and America with his vote on health care, as he’s been doing for over 20 years with just about everything else. Twelfth District voters deserve nothing less than a Holt-free Congress in 2010.

Rush Holt has to go, for more reasons than there is space in which to write on this page. Two challengers have emerged to answer that call. This Examiner has had the opportunity to hear Mr. Corsi speak to various groups on several occasions and his enthusiasm is contagious. He also understands the root causes of the financial meltdown; Scott Sipprelle, despite his financial background, seems to confuse symptoms with causes.
There is only one Constitutional Conservative running for Congress against Rush Holt in the June 8th primary and that’s David Corsi. His campaign slogan is “Had Enough?”
