There have been two sources that this Examiner has seen lately regarding $7 dollar per gallon gas – the first was in a talk radio segment and video about the spill that is reposted below. It’s been said that speculation drives up the cost, but with the present administration, it seems that American citizens must be prepared to imagine the unthinkable. As for the second source, a www.nypost.com article on Friday quoted a Harvard University study which estimated that gas would need to spike to at least $7 dollars per gallon to pay for the mess.
Didn’t Obama say that BP was going to pay every penny of this a few weeks ago? If there’s that kind of a spike in the cost of gas, guess who’s really paying! Nevertheless, the above mentioned article says part of Obama’s agenda for cleaning up the Gulf mess includes a price increase at the pump.
In what seems as though it could be additional confirmation that there are hazardous amounts of chemicals such as Hydrogen Sulfide, Benzene, and Methylene Chloride being released into the air in relation to the spill, a www.abcnews.go.com article on Friday reported that, “Sixteen barges sat stationary today, although they were sucking up thousands of gallons of BP’s oil as recently as Tuesday. Workers in hazmat suits and gas masks pumped the oil out of the Louisiana waters and into steel tanks. It was a homegrown idea that seemed to be effective at collecting the thick gunk.” But the barges were ordered to stop their work by the Coast Guard who would not explain why or where those orders originated from.
Meanwhile, Republicans are quietly making plans to investigate corruption in the White House if they win the House in November. A www.Politico.com article on Friday reported that if California Rep. Darrell Issa becomes chairman, he plans to “roughly double his staff from 40 to between 70 and 80. And he is not subtle about what that means for President Barack Obama.” We can only hope that the White House handling of the oil spill is an item on his agenda.
Some Christians have wondered if the oil spill is associated with the prophecy in Revelation chapter 8 verses 8-9: “Then the second angel sounded; And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.” Honestly, this Examiner feels that it’s too early in the disaster to determine if the oil spill is the fulfillment of that prophecy. One thing that will be notable will be if, as the video below suggests, the government ends up using a nuclear device in an attempt to stop the oil leak. It seems that if such an attempt should fail, that the fulfillment of that prophecy could be a likely result.
