Celebrity gossipers and followers in Fresno and all over the country today were shocked by today’s announcement.
As reported by sources like The Huffinton Post, E! News, and several other sources, a judge at a Los Angeles Superior Court has issued an arrest warrant for actress, model and pop singer-songwriter Lindsay Lohan. Reportedly, the warrant was issued after Lohan failed to appear in court for her probation. Word has it that Lohan was partying in Cannes when she was supposed to meet her court date, and now is stranded over there after loosing her passport. It is already expected that Miss Lohan will be serving time soon after she returns to the states.
This will not be the celebrity’s first time behind bars either. She had been arrested the first time on memorial Day of 2007 after an accident involving her Mercedes in Beverly Hills. A second arrest came happened in Santa Monica in July of this year after the mother of a personal assistant reported her car was being chased by an SUV, and Lohan was found behind the wheel of said SUV.
Lohan had already pleaded guilty in August 2007 to two misdemeanor counts of cocaine influence; there was no contest to two misdemeanor counts of blood-alcohol levels over 0.08 and or one count of reckless driving.
After coming out of drug rehab, Miss Lohan was placed on probation for three years, charges for violating it include a year in jail for each of her drunk driving and cocaine charges and up to 90 days on her reckless driving charge. These violations could also include failing to complete a drug test or a failure to report to her probation officer.
However, according to criminal defense attorney Alec Rose, “The police do not usually comb the streets looking for misdemeanor people. And if she’s flying back to the states, that’s a sign she’s coming home to deal with her problems.”
Rose went on to predict that instead of an outright handcuffing or detaining by law enforcement after Lohan comes home from the airport, she will most likely be served a notice that the warrant has been issued. Rose goes on to explain in greater detail (which can be read at EOnline.com) that she may not even have to pay the expected $100,000 in bail.
There is no doubt that millions of fans and onlookers will be waiting anxiously for the outcome of Lohan’s inevitable return from Cannes, but if Lohan’s fans have learned anything, it is that, with Lindsay, truly anything can happen.
