Half Moon Bay Inn
Examiner: What makes your establishment unique?
Jamie: The Half Moon Bay Inn is a Spanish Revival Building that was built by Sebastian Belli in 1932. It was lovingly restored and renovated to compliment the period and architecture. It has an “Old World” ambience and is the town’s only boutique inn.
Examiner: What is a little known factoid about your place?
Jamie: The building was rumored to have a secret tunnel during the Prohibition, however, we have not yet found any evidence of the tunnel. The Inn has certainly had its share of interesting history, though, and was an ice cream parlor, apartment building and a bus depot at various points in its lifetime.
Examiner: What is your specialty?
Jamie: I love to entertain and be a hostess for our friends and have carried on that tradition for our guests at the Inn. I also love to decorate and create an ambience for a relaxing getaway.
Examiner: What is your patrons’ favorite thing about your establishment? What’s your favorite?
Jamie: Most of our guests comment on the comfort of the beds and their great linens. I feel the same way. When I designed the rooms, it was all about the beds first and all of the other furnishings and accessories later.
Examiner: Anything new on the horizon that people can look forward to trying?
Jamie: We are planning on offering more package deals with the onsite restaurant, It’s Italia, and ongoing Romance Packages. If you are staying with us on the Fourth of July, the parade is right outside our front door. The Pumpkin Festival is also on Main Street.
Examiner: What is the top thing you recommend visitors to your city do/see – besides your business, of course?
Jamie: Half Moon Bay is surrounded by nature, from the ocean and tide pools, hiking and biking trails to the redwoods. Main Street has many shops and eating establishments to choose from as well as driving north or south to Princeton or Pescadero. Observing our beautiful sunsets or visiting the nurseries and farms and Harley’s Goat Farm and the wine tasting rooms are all great options.
Examiner: Anything else you want to add?
Jamie: Half Moon Bay is a perfect get away for a romantic escape or a family adventure. The Half Moon Bay Inn welcomes dogs of all sizes and provides dog beds and dishes. It’s Italia, a wonderful Italian restaurant below the Inn, also has a beautiful dog friendly courtyard with fireplaces and heaters.
