Gym rat Dad
This Dad definitely uses his gym membership. He plays basketball, runs, and generally sweats a lot. He is practical, unfussy, and in great shape. Get him the new Dove Men+Care cleansing products. The active clean dual sided shower tool is pretty cool. (It’s not a loofah, it’s a “shower tool”.) With products mostly under $10 and available at retailers nationwide such as Target, this is an easy, useful gift. Throw the products in a new gym bag and you’ll have a happy Dad!
This Dad is always checking his blackberry, has the latest laptop, and loves being in the know when it comes to technology. Any product from ThinkGeek would work but especially the Bluetooth watch ($69.99 online). This watch syncs to your cell phone, vibrates when your phone rings and shows the caller’s name and/or number on the LED display. ThinkGeek says, “You could look at your cell phone to see who is calling or push a button to mute the ringer and let them go to voicemail. But, instead, we think you should be as lazy as possible and use our Bluetooth Watch with Caller ID Display for these tasks.” If you have a little more dough to spend, another hipster present for this Dad would be the new SlideHD Flip video camcorder ($279.99 online). It records up to 4 hours of high definition footage and the slide feature makes it much easier to watch videos and share them with friends. You can even pick out a custom Father’s Day design (#1 Dad anyone?) to make it even more special. Fun, cool, new…perfect!
Life of the party Dad
This Dad LOVES to get together with friends…and he has many of them. He is always ready with a good joke and loves to laugh and play with his friends and family. The new board game, BLURT ($24.99 at amazon.com), is perfect for him. An updated version of the original classic, Blurt features a new look but is a cinch to learn. It is a hilarious, fast-paced game that asks players to be the first to shout out a word based on a given definition. This edition also comes with a junior version so even kids as young as seven can play with Dad. Blurt may just give your Dad a reason to party!
This Dad takes great pride in his appearance and may spend just a bit more time then average in front of the mirror. He cares how he looks and it shows. From his hair to his toes, he looks for the best products to keep everything looking good. C.O. Bigelow’s men’s line is natural, unfussy, and will make sure men still smell like men. The Bigelow Barbar Elixir Blue Essentials gift set ($30.00 online or separately at Bath & Body Works) is especially nice. The cologne is not too overpowering and is a little outdoorsy. If you want to splurge, try celebrity favorite, Ole Henriksen’s men’s line. The Men’s Kit ($70 at Sephora stores in metro Atlanta), is said to be tailored to suit the modern man’s skin care needs. These products are highly effective, practical, easy to use. The kit features four of their best-selling products and are great for all skin types. The scent is subtle and fresh.
This Dad loves his family and isn’t afraid to show it. He may shed a tear at a happy ending and gives the best bear hugs. Give him a sweet book from Atlantan author, Gregory E. Lang, “Why a Daughter Needs a Dad: 100 Reasons” or “Why a Son Needs a Dad: 100 Reasons”. Both books are about $10 on Amazon.com, and would be great as a Father’s Day gift from your little one(s). By the way, these books would be a fabulous way to let a Dad know the sex of a new baby. If you want to get a little more personal, why not make your own book for Dad? CVS/Pharmacy’s online Photo Center is one of the fastest and more economical ways to create a photo book. Starting at just $5.99 (in store), books can be created online or in-store by uploading your favorite photos, choosing a layout, and personalizing. Online orders can be shipped for free to any CVS store. As a bonus, you get 50 FREE prints just by signing up at CVSPhoto.com.
