Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton, City Council member Don Redman and the North Florida Bicycle Club are inviting residents to join them by participating in “Ride Your Bike to Work Day tomorrow.
Sponsored by the North Florida Bicycle Club, organized group rides to downtown will depart from three designated Jacksonville locations – Arlington, Southside, and Westside – around 7 a.m.
Each group will have a police escort to the downtown area.
Following the bicycle commute, riders are invited to meet in Hemming Plaza, located downtown at the intersection of Laura, Monroe, Hogan and Duval Streets, at 8 a.m. where Redman and Peyton will hold a brief event to recognize those who have participated.
The North Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure groups will provide refreshments.
