Beach Fest 2010 June 18-19: This summer festival is held at the Cultural & Civic Center of Round Lake Beach at 2007 Civic Center Way. (between the Village Hall and Metra Station) The summer festival includes free events, food, carnival rices, the Miss Round Lake Area Content, live bands, crafter’s market, Baggo Tournament and more. Saturday hours are 10:00 a.m. To 9:00 p.m.
7th Annual Juneteenth Celebration – Saturday, June 19 from 11:30 a.m. To 8:00 p.m. Juneteenth celebrates the joy of freedom and is the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery. The cultural festival in Waukegan salutes African American contributions to art, education, music and dance. The Waukegan celebration salutes Lake County’s contribution to eh spirit of the abolition movement with a freedom walk parade, food, information, main stage performances, children’s activities, the CLC history tent and more. Juneteenth is held a in downtown Waukegan and the corner of Madison and Genesee.
