Life After the Mansion (Part 3 of 3)
Bridget Marquardt: Moving from Playboy Mansion to Reality TV
With Holly Madison moving into Holly’s World and Kendra settling into her life as a new mom, fellow former Girls Next Door lady Bridget Marquardt was left to travel to new heights. And that’s just what she did.
While filming The Girls Next Door as a part of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend family, Bridget was offered a chance to have her own TV series. The first of the original Girls Next Door ladies to launch into reality TV land, Bridget was approached by the Travel Channel to host Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches in 2008. Less than a year later, Bridget told the press she was leaving Girls Next Door to “become her own person” and her travel show debuted in March 2009.

“She has the unique ability to bring out the best in people while fully embracing the moment,” Travel Channel executive Michael Klein said of the former Playmate. “Her humor, sense of adventure and passion for new experiences makes Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches one of our most anticipated series this year.”
While the stint of Bridget’s travel show didn’t last but one season, she quickly began to make other plans for her life – Including getting lost in love. In summer of 2009, Marquardt moved in with boyfriend and director Nicholas Carpenter. The couple made a home out of a $1.7-million dollar mansion in Los Angeles.
“It’s my first purchase like this! I’ve never had my own house before,” Bridget said in a past interview. “Going through all these [moving] boxes has been a little bit stressful,” she added. “I told Nick that he has to help me get rid of things, but every time he tells me to throw something away, I get all p**sed at him.”

Soon though, breaking away from her Playboy Mansion lifestyle would translate to another reality TV breakthrough for the 36-year-old Lodi, CA native. “Nick made me give away my Hello Kitty TV, my Hello Kitty microwave and my Hello Kitty toaster… and I have Playboy pillows, sheets, towels, barware,” she said, noting that she’s donating most of her Playboy mansion momentos to charity.
In April 2010, Bridget Marquardt and Nick Carpenter announced their plans to produce and pilot their own reality TV show.

“It’s a reality show about my boyfriend and I,” Bridget revealed in a recent interview with WhatsOn.com. “Kind of my life after the Mansion, our new home together, living together, our animals,” she said of her Pekingese dog “Wednesday” and black Persian cat dubbed “Gizmo”.
“We have a lot of adventures planned coming up and some entrepreneurial things that we’re working on. We also want to do another movie together, so it’s going to be based on all of those things.”
