Ketchum, Oklahoma (The one everybody wants to know about!)
Duck Creek on Grand Lake will hold their spectacular 4th of July extravaganza in 2010. The activities start at 4:00 p.m. and close at 10:00 p.m. There will be music, dancing, and boats parading up and down the creek with occupants throwing Mardi gras beads and goodies to the crowd lining the shore. All the while, vintage airplanes perform overhead. The planes can be viewed up close at the airport.
The Oklahoma Air National Guard’s F-16 fighters will perform a spectacular fly-by at dusk to start the grand fireworks display. This event is a must see! Projected attendance is 30,000. Plan to arrive early to claim your spot on the bank. Contact Joe Harwood at 918-782-3292.
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Rockets over RHEMA, Independence Day Fireworks Celebration, Rhema Bible Church, 1025 W. Kenosha, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. From 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be music, food and fireworks…and it’s all free. Expected attendance is 35,000. Contact www.rhemabiblechurch.com or 918-258-1588.
The Independence Day Wild Turkey Fest is at Jack Gordon Park. Time is 3 p.m. to Dusk. Admission is free. There will be a Turkey Drop contest, turtle races, children’s activities and games, a Military vehicle display, entertainment, and of course, fireworks. Contact 918-273-2301.
The Freedom Fest 2010 will be on Second Street from Keeler to Dewey. There is a stage located at Johnstone & Frank Phillips Blvd. for the music. Admission is free, but food will cost and items will be sold from booths. There will be booths, food, fun, games and activities for all ages, a Patriotic Kids Parade, music, and fireworks. Claremore, Oklahoma (July 3rd)
Claremore’s 3rd of July Celebration will be at Claremore Lake Park, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free. The first 400 children to register will receive a free rod and reel and a goody bag full of treats. Children ages 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 are eligible for this event.
The celebration starts with live entertainment. Parking will be at the Will Rogers Stampede Arena and is free. There will be concessions, fun and games, magic show, performances by SixxGunn Hill, Heartland Express and Fortunate Soul, and fireworks. No alcohol or private fireworks are permitted in the park.
